There are posters with pictures of Mark Knopfler on them all over Calcutta.....and there's a LOT of Calcutta. Sadly his concerts in India were yesterday in Mumbai and tomorrow in Bangalore. Looks like I shall have to wait until June 4th to see him in exotic Birmingham. Maybe not quite the same chutzpah but who's really bothered where you go to hear the man play.....
