Even if Mr. Bush had the guts to condemn General Musharraf, there is no longer any moral high ground

A thoughtful piece from Rich that pulls no punches. History is littered with liaisons of convenience and none of us is above a little hypocrisy from time to time. Still, reading through tracts of the outpouring from the US press and political bloggers [as to why, that's another story...] I can understand what he's getting at. Lots of 'He said, she said", much veneer and false claims of and strides for 'bipartisanship' [note this word - it will become much more prevalent than it is even now as repairs start to occur].

"To believe that this corruption will simply evaporate when the Bush presidency is done is to underestimate the permanent erosion inflicted over the past six years."

Sadly, the man has a point. A significant one.
